As a natural part of the aging process, we lose both bony and soft tissues throughout the face and body. Over time this process, combined with the effects of gravity, leads to an increasingly gaunt countenance, sagging skin, and deepening wrinkles and folds. Injectable dermal fillers offer an excellent non-surgical treatment to reverse these signs of aging and restore a fresh, youthful appearance. They are comprised of substances that are naturally found in the skin and supporting tissues of the body; each has unique characteristics that make it best suited for specific applications in the face and hands. During a dermal filler procedure, Dr. Faludi first numbs the affected area, and then he injects the gel substance using an ultra-fine needle and tiny cannula. This technique minimizes discomfort to the patient and allows him to work with a great deal of precision. Treatment results are immediate, virtually no recovery time is needed, and minimal swelling occurs; patients can usually return to work and most normal activities the same day. Effects of dermal filler treatments generally last between 6-12 months and longer, based on the type of filler used and the location of the treated area.
